Thank you sooooo much for the daily dose of pop-punk/alternative/rock band news. Now I don’t have to check all their twitters and facebook pages everyday, well I’d still have to do that tho since I’m a “fangirl” and that’s what we naturally do. :))
All Time Low Announce New Album?

I’ve never attended any concert of my favorite artists/bands in my whole life.
Not even one.
Why?
- no money
- venue too far (not really, but for my parents, Manila’s too far)
- parents don’t support my fandom
- parents won’t allow me
- most of my friends are not band fan girls/dudes = no companion
- again, no money
Yung tipong pabalik-balik na yung banda dito sa Pinas, wala pa rin. </3
That’s why I’m wishing that a band would have a concert here on a date near my birthday. Para yun na lang birthday gift. Para sure na sure na makakapunta ako.
And if ever I’ll ever attend my first ever concert in my life, I would like it to be an All Time Low concert. Please lang.

The Maine Live Beatles Cover Ft. Lydia, Arkells

Complex legal issues prevented a number of “Avengers” characters from their inclusion in this film. Most notably, these include Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch, the twin children of X-Men) villain Magneto, and frequent adversaries Doctor Doom (nemesis of the Fantastic Four) and Norman Osbourne/Green Goblin (the primary antagonist of Spider-Man). Though all characters are owned by Marvel/Disney, the “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” characters had all been licensed to Fox Studios, and those of “Spider-Man” to Sony before work began on an “Avengers” film. Marvel has said that in the future they hope to regain the rights to all licensed properties, that the aforementioned characters might have a role in subsequent “Avengers” films.

This is an original composition by some of my friends from UP Sonata. For me, it’s a cool song for starters in song writing. It actually a great one, sounds like it’s written by a pro or something. It’s also an advantage for the organization to produce some quality original songs aside from doing covers of both vintage and modern tracks. Keep it up, keep the strings burning!

I wish there’s a law against verbal abuse. I’m dead serious when I say I need it. I’m not limping or bruised physically but I have feelings too. :/ I can’t stand sitting around, listening to your rants, hurting my feelings like I’m some kind of a heartless pig who doesn’t know anything. Puh-lease, my ears are bleeding. Ok? Harsh words are the most painful thing you could give me. Lucky you I didn’t arrive in a coffin after the semester or else you’ll miss shouting painful rants everyday.
Just Suzanne Collins on the birth of The Hunger Games trilogy and its relevance to reality.
The spark that inspired The Hunger Games Trilogy, a significant influence would have to be the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. The myth tells how in punishments for past deeds, Athens periodically had to send seven young men and seven maidens to Crete where they were thrown into a labyrinth and devour with the monstrous Minotaur. Theseus who is the son of the king volunteered to go. I guess in her own way, Katniss is the futuristic Theseus. But she may be even more closely tied to the historical figure of Spartacus who was a Roman slave and gladiator who lived in the first century BC. He broke out in his gladiator school in Capua, started an uprising and that led to what is known as the Third Servile War. I send my tributes into an updated version of the Roman gladiator games. While the details are different, the three essential elements remain: (1) you have a ruthless government that (2) forces people to fight to death and as (3) a form of popular entertainment.
The actual moment of inspiration for the trilogy came when I was channel surfing between reality TV programming and news coverage of the war in Iraq. One night I was there flipping around on one channel where there’s a group of young people competing for, I don’t know, money? And on the next, there was a group of young people fighting in an actual war. And I was tired and the lines began to blur in this very unsettling way and then I thought of Katniss’ story. I never directly based any of my characters off real people. Since the situations that they’ll be entering will be futuristic and specific to that time, but there are definitely bits and pieces of characters that were inspired by people in my own life. For instance, if you take the crew who create the Hunger Games each year, a lot of those personalities, their attitudes and their absorption with the show they’re creating come from my work in television. I have been a television writer for over 19 years. In a way, it’s very easy for me to imagine the world of the game makers because in a much gentler way, I was one myself.
What would I like young readers to ultimately take away from The Hunger Games trilogy? Questions about how elements of the book might be relevant in their own lives like how do you feel about the fact that some people take their next meal for granted when so many other people are starving in the world. What do you think about choices your government past and present or other government around the world make. What’s your relationship to reality TV versus your relationship to the news and was there anything in the book that disturbed you because it reflected aspects of your own life? And if there was, what can you do about it? I think it’s important for everyone to read. It exposes you to people and places and times and ideas that you might never encounter or encounter in such an eminent way. There’s this one on one connection. No one’s interpreting the material for you. It’s this opportunity for your mind to meet the writer’s mind, grab it.
